EqualiSM-SES

EqualiSM-SES is a 24-month Erasmus+ Sport initiative led by Türkiye’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, in partnership with Latvia, Italy, and Spain, that advances gender equality in sport management through digital learning, mentorship, and cross-border networking for the next generation of women leaders in sport.

OBJECTIVES

The EqualiSM-SES project pursues a set of interconnected objectives designed to advance gender equality in sport management across Europe. Its primary aim is to further promote the increase of women representatives in sport management and decision-making mechanisms while raising awareness among relevant organizations, including sport clubs, federations, academies, and decision-making bodies.

A Partnership for Systemic Change

Born from the findings of the first EqualiSM initiative, EqualiSM-SES unites four countries and eight organizations to tackle gender inequality at its roots. Our partners span government ministries, universities, sport schools, and social cooperatives — ensuring our approach reaches from policy chambers to playing fields.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can participate in EqualiSM-SES activities?

Our activities are open to sport education and sport science students at all levels — from grassroots and vocational schools to universities — with a special focus on empowering women to pursue leadership roles in sport management. We also welcome sport clubs, federations, and decision-making bodies interested in advancing gender equality.

What is the E-Hub and how can I access it?

The EqualiSM-SES E-Hub is our digital platform featuring e-learning modules, mentorship programs, and networking tools. It will be freely accessible in English once launched, with open-access resources available to all registered users.

Which countries are involved in the project?

EqualiSM-SES is a cross-border partnership between four countries: Türkiye (coordinator), Latvia, Italy, and Spain. Our associated partners extend our reach even further across Europe.

How does this project differ from the first EqualiSM initiative?

While the original EqualiSM project identified key barriers and produced initial recommendations, EqualiSM-SES takes the next step by implementing concrete digital tools, expanding training to multiple education levels, and actively engaging male allies alongside women to foster systemic change.

Will project results be available after the funding period ends?

Yes. Through our Sustainability Plan and Memorandum of Understanding, all partners commit to keeping the E-Hub, research outputs, and learning materials freely accessible for at least five years beyond the project lifecycle.
