EqualiSM-SES Kick-off Meeting was Held in Latvia.

The EqualiSM-SES project has officially started with a successful kick-off meeting held in Latvia on 13–14 January 2026 by hosting BK-95, bringing together all project partners to shape the roadmap for the next two years.

The first transnational meeting of the EqualiSM-SES (Equal Opportunities in Sport Management – Social Entrepreneurship in Sport) project was successfully held in Latvia with the participation of all consortium partners.
Funded under the European Union Erasmus+ Sport Cooperation Partnerships programme and coordinated by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Türkiye, the meeting marked the official launch of a two-year international cooperation process dedicated to promoting gender equality, inclusion and social entrepreneurship in sport management.
The meeting brought together representatives of all partner institutions involved in the project consortium, including the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Türkiye as coordinating organisation, together with project partners BK-95, IDEE IN FUGA – Società Cooperativa Sociale and Universidad de Zaragoza. The participation of all consortium members provided an important opportunity to align expectations, strengthen cooperation and establish a common strategic framework for the successful implementation of the project.
During the two-day event, project partners from Türkiye, Latvia, Italy and Spain came together to establish the operational framework of the project and define the strategic direction of upcoming activities.
Key topics discussed during the meeting included:

  • Detailed project work plan and timeline
  • Distribution of responsibilities among project partners
  • Communication and dissemination strategy
  • Quality assurance and monitoring mechanisms
  • Planning of international workshops and mobility activities
  • Development of digital learning and mentoring tools

Special attention was given to the project’s core mission: strengthening equal opportunities for women in sport management and decision-making structures while promoting social entrepreneurship approaches within the sport sector.
Partners also exchanged ideas on the implementation of major project outputs, including the E-Learning Lab, mentoring activities, networking workshops, research-based outputs and the “True Stories” initiative, which will highlight inspiring female role models in sport leadership across Europe.
The kick-off meeting laid a strong foundation for effective cooperation and confirmed the consortium’s shared commitment to creating more inclusive, innovative and equitable sport management structures.
This first meeting represents an important milestone for EqualiSM-SES and sets the stage for impactful activities to be implemented throughout the project duration.
